Becoming a Dive Instructor will open your world to new and exciting experiences, you may even be calling the beach your new office!

At Pro Dive we offer a comprehensive Instructor Training Course that will provide you with all of the tools and experience you need to step into your new dive career with confidence. When completing a course with Pro Dive not only do you acquire all the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed as a Dive Instructor, but our program will teach you about retail, customer service, and risk management, among others. Conducted over 5 weeks, our candidates not only finish with an Internationally recognised license to teach SCUBA diving but our programs follow Nationally Accredited standards, which means upon completion our instructors can apply for a Certificate IV in Outdoor Leadership from our partners Pro Adventures RTO. Our candidates receive the required units of competency to work in Australia, which means, you are READY to work from day one.

After successfully completing your IDC you are required to attend an Instructor Examination. This is a two-day evaluative program that will test each instructor candidate’s teaching ability, dive theory knowledge, skill level and understanding of diving. The IE is conducted by specialized professionals who work as Instructor Certifiers who assess each candidate as objectively as possible to fairly evaluate their abilities.

After successful completion of the Instructor Examination, the instructor candidate can now call him or herself a Dive Instructor!

• SISOSCB007 Inspect and fill SCUBA cylinders (Nationally recognised unit of competency)
• BSBWHS211 – Contribute to health and safety of self and others
• HLTAID014 - Provide Advanced First Aid
• HLTAID015 - Provide advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy
• Working on SCUBA vessels
  
• Dive Center Operations (A game changer in the industry to learn retail, customer service, and engagement among other important aspects of the dive industry)

Accommodation: As the only dive centre with two locations in Sydney (Manly and Alexandria) we cover the largest area of the city, talk to our instructors for help and tips about accommodation during your stay for the program. 

Duration:

5- week program (When already certified as a Divemaster, more time is needed if joining at a different level)

Minimum Requirements: 

• 18 years of age
  
• 60 logged dives, minimum of 40 hours to start the program
  
• 100 logged dives, minimum of 65 hours to become certified
  
• Dive Medical Statement signed by a physician within 12 months
